PocketTrend
I can't count the number of times I've passed someone on the sidewalk and wanted to know where they got their handbag, top, shoes, etc. but felt awkward barraging them about where they got it. When asked to design my "ideal App", PocketTrend was the immediate response.
PocketTrend assists avid shoppers like myself with investigative shopping research, not only saving me from awkwardly approaching strangers, but also giving me the option to find a cheaper version of the item somewhere online. The application aims to combine the online shopping world with the physical shopping world, blurring the lines between how items are discovered, coveted, and circulated.
The quick selection tool allows the user to circle the specific item they wish to find.
The application searches for items similar to the picture, in this case working off tag words such as "gold" and "studded" which are also used as key identifiers on fashion websites. The user can scroll down to see more results, and can filter their search either by cheapest match or closest match.
This feature of the App allows the user to manage, organize, and even put together their own outfit visions. Their outfit ideas can be shared with friends, similar to Pinterest.
